February 8, 2010 This evening we helped our Electra, our Bunny Dog, to the Rainbow Bridge. Her body was still creaking along, but her mind and spirit had gone on ahead. It was time to help her body follow. She was the last living puppy from my first terv, Zephyr. Electra was the sweetest, gentlest dog I have ever known. She was always calm, even as a puppy, and completely unflappable in all situations. She did agility because I asked her to, but her preference was UKC, where accuracy was more important than speed. She always wanted to be perfect. Her best athletic endeavor was lure-coursing, where she showed the sighthounds a thing or two! But her true calling was as a therapy dog. She loved the work and excelled at it. You can see photos of her doing it on her photo page. In the end, it isn't the titles you remember or care about-it is the essence of the dog.
